May 1 Meeting of Spruce Pine Kiwanis

Julia Rowland from the High Country Council of Governments spoke to Kiwanis on Tuesday, May 1, about the North Carolina Share Network. North Carolina is one of eight states participating in the pilot program. The High Country area of Western North Carolina is one of the areas where the program is implemented. The Share Network will be a “one-stop” source for resources such as community organizations, social service agencies, government agencies, etc. that may be needed by someone seeking employment. There are initially two “access points” in Mitchell County (SafePlace and Mayland Community College) where residents can use the system.
